How to order: the Facebook comment reply template

The comment closest to revenue. This template puts the order link in Messenger and a one-line "check your inbox" in public — with reply once on, so a keen commenter is not messaged four times from the same post.

Decided. They are asking for the path to give you money, and every minute between the comment and the link is a minute they can be sold to by someone else.

When this fires

Paste these into the rule’s keyword list. Any one of them matching is enough — keywords are an OR list, not an AND list.

  • how to order
  • how do i order
  • how to buy
  • want to buy
  • i'll take it
  • order po
  • paano order
  • paano bumili
  • สั่งซื้อ
  • สั่งยังไง

How Mentbot reads them

  • Matching is a plain substring test, not a whole-word test. A keyword matches anywhere inside the comment — which is why the list below matters.
  • Case is ignored, and text is NFKC-folded first, so SALE matches sale and full-width or styled characters still match.
  • Thai, emoji and any other script work the same way: the comment is compared as text, with no language detection.
  • Leading and trailing spaces in a keyword are trimmed, and a blank keyword row never matches anything.

The public reply

Add these as separate reply variants on the rule. Mentbot picks one at random each time a comment matches, so the same post does not fill up with one identical sentence.

  1. Variant 1

Sent you the order link in Messenger 🛒 Two taps and it's yours.

  2. Variant 2

Check your inbox — order form and payment options are there 📩

  3. Variant 3

On its way to your Messenger! Reply there and we'll get it out today 🚚

{comment} is replaced with the commenter’s own text. It is the only token Mentbot substitutes — there is no {name} or {page}.

The Messenger DM

The private reply Mentbot sends to the same commenter. On Facebook this is a Messenger private reply to the comment, so it only works while Facebook’s reply window for that comment is open.

Hi! You commented: "{comment}" Order here 👉 https://example.com/order Or just reply with: 1. What you want 2. Your name and address 3. COD or transfer We'll confirm within the hour.

Settings to turn on

The four switches on the rule, and what this scenario needs from each.

SettingThis templateWhat it does
Reply onceOn On, and this is the template the setting exists for. Without it, someone who comments "how do I order" then "is it still available" then "can I get two" on the same post gets the same order link three times. Reply once suppresses this rule after it has answered that person on that post — a different rule can still answer them, and this rule answers them again on a different post.Answers each commenter once per post for this rule — and an attempt Facebook refused still counts as that once. The same person commenting again on the same post gets nothing more from this rule, but a different rule can still answer them, and the same rule answers them again on a different post.
Mention the commenterOffPuts an @mention of the commenter at the front of the public reply. It applies to the public reply only, never to the Messenger message.
Hide the commentOffHides the comment once this rule has answered it. The author and their friends still see it; everyone else does not. Separate from your Page’s moderation filters, which run earlier.
Like the commentOn On. It costs nothing and acknowledges them before the DM lands.Likes the comment from the Page, straight after the public reply goes out.

Scope

Where the rule is allowed to fire.

Keywords, on every post

The rule runs on every post but only on comments containing one of its keywords.

Keywords on every post. Buying intent arrives everywhere, including posts you made months ago.

When two rules could both answer

Exactly one rule answers a comment. Mentbot ranks every rule that qualifies and runs the most specific one; the rest are recorded as outranked, not run.

  1. A rule limited to a list of posts wins first — even if it also has keywords.
  2. Then a rule with a hashtag or keywords.
  3. Then the catch-all with neither.
  4. If two rules tie on that rank, the older one wins. There is no priority field to set.

What will not match

Comments a seller expects this rule to catch, and does not. Each one follows from the matching rules above.

The commentWhy it does not fire
"Sold" or "I want this"Neither contains a listed keyword. These are the two phrasings sellers most often forget to add — put the ones your customers actually use on the list.
A second comment from the same person on the same postReply once is on, and it suppresses per commenter, per post, per rule. That is the intended behaviour here, but it is worth knowing it is why the second comment looks ignored.
A very old commentMentbot attempts the private reply regardless, but Facebook can refuse it — for instance when the window for privately replying to that comment has closed. The failure is recorded against that interaction rather than hidden, so you can see it happened.
A sticker or emoji-only commentA sticker carries no text, so a rule with keywords never matches it. "🛒" on its own is ordinary text and a real order attempt — it matches only if you add 🛒 as a keyword, which is worth doing.

What Mentbot will not do here

Stated plainly, so you do not build a workflow on top of something that is not there.

  • The order link is fixed text. Mentbot cannot build a cart, attach a product or personalise the link — the only substitution available is {comment}.
  • There is no order record, no status and no follow-up sequence. One comment gets one public reply and one Messenger message.

Cost at your comment volume

Rules are not metered separately — you pay for comments handled per day across all your Pages, and every plan includes every feature. Prices come straight from the pricing page.

Questions

Should reply once be on or off here?

On. This is the clearest case for it: the order link only needs to arrive once per person per post, and an enthusiastic commenter leaving three comments should not get three identical DMs.

Does reply once block my other rules too?

No. It is scoped to the rule that has it switched on. Your sizing rule and your shipping rule can still answer the same person on the same post — only this rule stops repeating itself.

Can the public reply carry the order link instead?

It can, and on Facebook it can carry an image attachment too. Most sellers keep the link private anyway: a link in a public comment reply is a link competitors can see under every post, and the Messenger thread is where you can actually answer follow-up questions.

What happens if someone comments again next week on a different post?

They get the link again. Reply once is per post, not per person for all time, so the same buyer coming back to a new post is treated as a new opportunity — which is usually what you want.
