Choose CommentGuard if

  • You need to moderate comments on ads as well as posts, with filters for profanity, negativity, links and contact details.
  • You want AI to draft or send replies based on your own FAQs and product details.
  • A team shares the work: unlimited users, roles and response-time stats are on every plan.
  • You manage Instagram comments too, not only Facebook Pages.

Choose Mentbot if

  • You get up to 1,000 comments a day: Mentbot Pro is $19 a month, and CommentGuard's plan for that volume is Elite at $199.
  • You want a rule to fire only on specific posts, or on a hashtag.
  • You want a Telegram alert when a customer message sits unread past a delay you pick, not a daily digest.
  • You only need Facebook Page comments handled, with every feature on the $9 plan and setup in about 5 minutes.

How to switch to Mentbot

  1. In CommentGuard, list each automation: its keywords, its reply variants, and whether it sends a public reply, a private message, or both.
  2. Start a Mentbot 14-day free trial and connect the same Facebook Pages.
  3. Create one Mentbot rule per reply. Add the keywords, the public reply variants and the Messenger message in the same rule.
  4. Mentbot hides comments that match a rule's keywords, so add the words you want hidden and turn on auto-hide.
  5. Test on one post, then pause the CommentGuard automations so a comment doesn't get two replies.

Questions

Is Mentbot cheaper than CommentGuard?

At the volumes we compared, yes. 100 comments a day is $9 on Mentbot Basic and $29 on CommentGuard Starter. 1,000 a day is $19 on Mentbot Pro and $199 on CommentGuard Elite. CommentGuard counts every comment you receive, including ones no rule replies to. Prices checked on 14 September 2026.

Can Mentbot moderate comments on my Facebook ads?

Mentbot works on comments on your Facebook Page posts. It has no ad-specific moderation. If most of your comments come from ads, CommentGuard covers both posts and ads.

Does Mentbot use AI to write replies, like CommentGuard?

No. Mentbot sends the replies you write and rotates between several variants. CommentGuard has AI agents that can draft or send replies based on your own FAQs.

Can both tools send a private Messenger message to the commenter?

Yes. In CommentGuard you tick 'Send as private message' on an automation, and you create two automations to send a public reply and a DM together. In Mentbot, one rule can do both.

Does Mentbot work with Instagram?

No. Mentbot handles Facebook Page comments only. CommentGuard also covers Instagram posts and ads.
